From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot experienced right side cockpit fire/smoke at FL 10.0, origin behind right instrument panel. Pilot turned off all electrics and made emergency descent. Used hand fire extinguisher to extinguish fire, origin appeared to be engine oil from plumbing for right engine oil pressure gauge. Shutdown right engine but was unable to feather prop. Due to continuous loss of altitude due to windmilling prop and continued oil leak in cockpit, pilot made emergency landing on Pennsylvania turnpike. Investigation revealed wire bundle shorted against "hard" line plumbing for right engine oil pressure gauge. No injuries/property damage. Submission of this report closes this incident.
