What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The flight instructor and his student were executing touch & go landings in closed traffic at tarrant field when the engine "popped" & lost power. The instructor maneuvered the airplane for an emergency landing, and touched down past the mid-point of the runway. Braking action of the wet grass was nil, so the aircraft overran the remaining runway. The aircraft went thru two fences before nosing over & coming to rest in the inverted position. Examination of the engine revealed that an exhaust valve had failed.
