From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: just before touchdown, the instructor asked the student, "3 greens, yes?" And then visually looked at the 3 green landing gear down lights himself, also getting a "yes" from the student. While flaring for landing, the stall horn just started to sound just as the main wheels touched down. The instructor indicated that it was a gentle touchdown on the runway center line. As the nose of the aircraft lowered, the nose gear touched the runway, and then it just kept on lowering (relatively slowly) until the propellers started to strike the pavement. The aircraft then slid on its nose till it came to a stop on runway 16R center line, just south of the high speed taxiway. This investigation is closed. M or d filed.
