From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

The aircraft crossed taxiways j & e, the grass infield, runway 29, and proceeded onto runway 23 where it stopped by the 1000 foot marker at 1030 EDT, 04/28/96. The pilot and another person chased the aircraft until it was stopped by the pilot's wife who was on board. The pilot taxied the aircraft back to the ramp. There was no damage to the aircraft. There were no injuries. The pilot reported the starter bendix drive problem to American aero services, taunton, MA. Mr. Mike dupont (IA) repaired the starter on 05/10/96.
