From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot stated- on approach, when the landing gear was lowered, the main gear indicated down and the nose gear in transit. He attempted to use the hand crank and "g" forces to lower the nose gear, all unsuccessful. He then landed at mry with the nose gear partially retracted. Inspectors statement- on preliminary inspection of the nose gear retraction system, the nose gear retract rod end was found broken at the aft attach point. Reason for this failure is unknown at this time. M or d to follow when cause of failure is determined by the maintenance facility. No pilot deviation and no 8020-11 generated. This terminates the investigation and this report is closed.
