From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft was in cruise flight at 17,500 feet when the left engine began to surge. Pilot was unable to effect smooth operation of the engine so he shut the left engine down. He contacted zlc center and asked for vectors to Hanksville Airport. Upon landing the pilot landed long and fast. The pilot was concerned that he would go off the end of the runway so he forced the aircraft onto the runway collapsing the nose landing gear, causing damage to both propellers, the nose of the aircraft, and the nose landing gear. No injuries or other damage occurred. This report is final and closed.
