From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-16) (3) Airworthiness - engine lost power due to fuel starvation. On disassembly of the tillotson fuel strainer, inspectors found foreign debris, causing blockage of fuel. (4) airman competency - pilot stated that he had problems with the plane during taxi, before flight. He still decided to take-off to fly to his mechanic's airstrip in spite of the problem. (9)FAR violation - automotive gas was being used in the aircraft. A supplemental type certificate (STC) was not installed on the aircraft authorizing its use.
