From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: captain advised that the flight attendants advised that there was smoke in the galley area. Captain advised that they went thru the normal drills of removing electrical power and decided to do a precautionary landing at Greenwood, MS. After landing the passengers were deplaned through the rear air stair in a normal manner. Captain advised that the cause was that the wrapper on the bagels somehow came in contact with the heating element of the oven causing the wrapper to burn. There was no fire only smoke which was handled with no injuries. Mr. Carter northwest rep on board stated that the aircraft was to be checked as a matter of safety to insure that there was no other problem. Coordination with trish cline FAA atl, was completed and after the aircraft was returned to service aircraft was re-dispatched to its original destination.
