From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot stated that he was practicing short field landing techniques because he operates out of an airport with a 3,300 foot runway. He said that this DC-4 has a conversion on it and the cockpit sits up much higher than normal. He stated that one of the main gear caught the threshold light. Upon parking on the ramp, the pilot said his co-pilot, who is an A&P, looked at the aircraft and no damage was found. Airport maintenance repaired the threshold marker light and cleaned up debris. privacy data omitted There were no injuries. Runway 14 at Shreveport (shv) is 8,351 feet in length. For future short field landing practice, it was recommended that a point further down the runway be selected as the point of touchdown. Type of safety recommendation: privacy data omitted
