From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot departed pvc in VMC at approximately 17:10 EDT, destination gon. Pilot was unable to obtain a wx briefing from bdr fss prior to departure but obtained an airborne briefing from boston flight watch on 122.0. Flight following was provided by cape approach with a handoff to pvd approach. The wx deteriorated to MVFR near otis angb. Pvd approach vectored the aircraft toward pvd. The pilot was flying into IMC and spotted the closed Fall River airport from 1500 feet. Rather than continuing on into worsening conditions, he elected to make a precautionary landing. Incident closed.
