From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft landed at ptw, taxied back and proceeded to take-off again. On the down wind leg, the pilot heard a noise under the aircraft and requested that someone on the ground check the aircraft as he flew by. They said the right main gear was hanging down from the aircraft. The pilot flew to new castle county airport, (ilg) and landed with very little damage. The mechanic who checked the aircraft felt that the piece that broke was weakend by repeated hard landings over a period of time. (This aircraft is used for flight instruction). This incident is considered closed.
