From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on July 19, 1996 at 1015 CDT, Falcon Amd-20-20, N911RG, sn 144, returning empty to Rockford, IL (rfd) from a 14 CFR 135 cargo flight to springfield, MO experienced a failure of the landing gear system. Procedures a and b were executed with no change in gear movement or position. The landing gear was manually extended in accordance with procedure c. no green light indication was given for landing gear position. A fly-by was conducted to verify the landing gear position. It appeared down. The aircraft made a landing on runway 01. Upon landing the left main gear collapsed. The aircraft came to rest off of the runway. No injuries, no fire, no egress problems. Investigation of the landing gear system revealed the pilots had cycled the hydraulic systems a and b to even out the pressure between the systems. The actuating cable, part number MYZ0793-50 failed with the valve between systems, rendering both systems inoperative. No green light indication was given due to the failure of the internal locking mechanisms making full contact. Nothing follows.
