From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot, darryl p. didier, while attempting a touch and go landing on runway 18 at the Waxahachie airport (4TG), contacted the top wire of a Texas utilities power line. The aircraft, N96BD, a Beechcraft model 58, sustained damage to the radome, left engine, left flap, both propellers, and some skin damage. After contacting the power line wire, the pilot stated that the aircraft yawed severely to the left, and that he was able to safely land the aircraft in a pasture to the east and adjacent to the airport, with the gear down. The power lines are approximately one half mile north of the airport runway. The pilot stated that he did not know why he was as low as he was on the approach, and contacted the power lines 1/2 mile from runway.
