From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: N4484T, a seneca, landed 15L, nose gear collapsed on rollout. 2 sob, no injuries. (Sba ATCT, through the ro do jerry acosta obtained perm ission to move aircraft from NTSB.) 7-1-96 insp. Campbell of vny FSDO telecon interview with PIC mauro morosetti. Morosetti is flt instr for pacific aviation at sba privacy data omitted italian citizen U.S. Cert. #2463348 ssan 605544457. Morosetti stated: on 7-25-96 he was giving dual instruction to david fisch. They had been doing pattern work for approx. 20 minutes when during a landing and take-off roll the nose gear collapsed. No unusual or hard landings had been encountered on this session. Morosetti was PIC at the time. He maintained control of acft with braking. No injuries to occupants. Both props/eng and nose damaged. 7-3-96 insp. Campbell inspected acft. Found gear bracket cracked on nose bulkhead. Interviewed d.o.m. dodson (pacific aviation). Acft had 25 hours and 100 landings since last inspection. No defects were noted during last inspection. Malfunction and defect report will be submitted. Part name=mount assembly, hydraulic jack. Part number=95724-00. Conclusion: this aircraft has over 5600 hours total time, with most of the hours used in student training. I feel that the bracket could have been stressed at any time during the 100 cycles after inspection and failed with no fault of morosetti. No further action will be taken. This investigation is closed. M or d filed.
