From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: investigation of this incident revealed the following information: the pilot stated that she departed san carlos, CA with the intent of flying to Montgomery field (myf), San Diego, CA. An IFR flight plan was filed, flown in VMC conditions. The flight was uneventful until the landing at myf. The pilot said that she had the aircraft configured with 20 degrees of flaps and intended on extending them to 40 degrees on short final prior to landing on rwy 28R. The pilot thinks that she inadvertently hit the electric flap switch which caused the flaps to retract. The aircraft landed at a higher than normal airspeed, and entered into a porpoising motion. The aircraft's propeller struck the runway. The damage to the aircraft consisted of bent propeller blades and nose gear damage. The pilot and her sole passenger were not injured as a result of this incident. This incident is not related to any NMAC or pilot deviation reported by ATC. The pilot received counseling from the investigating FSDO personnel.
