From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Landed to refuel. Nosed up and stalled during rotation. Impacted on airport. Elevator trim full nose up position. (-23) aircraft is equipped with Continental IO-550 engine conversion which requires additional "nose-up" horizontal stabilizer trim. Aircraft also equipped with robertson stol kit which provides additional performance on takeoff. Pilot left horizontal stabilizer trim in full "nose-up" position after previous landing. He then took off from runway 16R without resetting the horizontal stabilizer trim for takeoff. The aircraft's nose pitched up quickly, resulting in a stall. Pilot reduced power, lowered the nose of the aircraft and attempted, but failed to regain control of the aircraft.

HE THEN TOOK OFF FROM RUNWAY 16R WITHOUT RESETTING THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER TRIM FOR TAKEOFF. THE AIRCRAFT'S NOSE PITCHED UP QUICKLY, RESULTING IN A STALL.
