From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: Cessna N34546, operated by igor mihich sustained damage to the landing gear while making an emergency landing on the beach, about 15 miles south of half moon bay, California. There were no injuries to the three people aboard. No flight plan was filed and VFR conditions prevailed. According to police reports, the pilot landed on gazo beach, Pescadero, California when the engine started running rough. After the aircraft came to rest on the beach and the occupants exited the aircraft the tide came in and pushed the aircraft into the rocks, causing substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot stated that the engine RPM dropped from about 2500 RPM to 1100 RPM. It surged a few times but would not recover full RPM. He selected the beach instead of a crowded highway to land. He landed close to the surf to avoid people on the beach. No pilot deviation. No 8010-11 filed.
