From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft engine lost power and pilot made emergency landing in a field. (-23) this private pilot departed lbb for lru after topping off his fuel tanks on an instrument flight plan in VMC conditions. During climb-out at 5600 MSL, the single engine aircraft lost engine power. The PIC began to fly towards reese afb. He called lbb tower and told them he had lost power and would not make it to reese. He landed in a cotton field where his passenger sustained minor injuries and the aircraft sustained substantial damage. Post accident investigation revealed that the dual magneto had come loose disengaging the drive gear and killing the ignition system.
