From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Slower than normal speeds climb and cruise. Flyby nose gear partial extended. Landed short. Shimmy damper broken. (-23) operator reported to rst tower a nose gear problem. The pilot then performed two low passes to confirm gear problem with the tower. The pilot then talked to maintenance on ground for possible solutions. After flying around for awhile without a fix, the pilot then elected to perform an emergency landing. On the approach to runway 02, the piloted elected to shutdown the engine on final around 200 AGL and 2 miles out. The pilot then noticed he was not going to make the runway and tried to restart the engine. The pilot stalled the aircraft and crashed. Aircraft came to rest 1/4 mile off the end of runway 02 at rst.
