What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Narrative: pilot was on a flight to check avionics maintenance performed on airplane at N43. Engine idle had been raised from 550 to 700 to meet specifications. Landing was made downwind to runway 18. On final, the pilot reported he had the throttle all the way back, but the airplane just floated. Eventually the airplane touched down, but was well down the runway and high on airspeed. The pilot was unable to stop the airplane and went off the end of the runway. The nose wheel went over a mound of dirt, which caused it to go up in the air. It came back down hard, which caused the nose gear to collapse. This caused minor damage to the airplane. There were no injuries. Submission of this report completes this investigation.
