From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on 9/20/96 at 1457, N344A, a falcon-10, was parked on the run-up pad at the end of runway 24 and taxiway "a". N2673Z, a Cessna 340III was parked in echelon at the same location, third for departure. After reminding tower of N2673X VFR departure, N2673X was cleared to runway 24 ahead two aircraft, which were waiting for IFR releases. As N2673X turned right to taxi past the second aircraft (N344A), the tip of N2673X left wing pasted over and contacted the right wing tip of N344A. The pilot of N344A advised the tower there had been wing tip contact between his parked aircraft (N344A) and N2673X. Exchanged ownership, license and insurance information. They inspected both aircraft and while the inspectors were waiting to get to the sight, N344A took off. An airport official (no name or title) inspected N2673X and determined that it was superficial, cosmetic, not structural. Nash FSDO-3 sent an inspector to take pictures, inspect aircraft and interview pilot. Again superficial, cosmetic and not structural. Teb.FSDO sent inspectors to look at N2673X and found the same. No further action.

As the FAA filed it
