From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: during a cross country flight from cma to bih, the pilot decided to do a stop and go at Coyote Flats (04CA), pilot made a nw landing, stopped and taxied back for a "short field" take off. Pilot set flaps to 10 degrees, applied full power and released brake. At start of take off roll aircraft fish tailed, then veered right off the runway. Aircraft left wheel dug into loose dirt and left wing came down. Pilot was pulling off power and estimates ground speed of 30-35 KTS when wing contacted the ground. Take off was made down hill with a wind that was variable from 0 to 10 KTS(EST) from the left back quarter. Passenger statements substantiate the pilots report. Damage to aircraft was as follows: left wing tip outboard of landing light bent up approximately three inches, spar not cracked; left elevator bent slightly and left wheel slightly bent. No further action was required. This report is closed.
