From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: Mr. Mitchell had been administering a biennial flight review to Mr. Clark prior to this incident. They had been practicing landings at the buhl, ID airport (U03) when they noticed a gear unsafe condition. They returned to Twin Falls (twf) in order to have the tower look at the gear to determine if it appeared to be down. A controller at twf ATCT did say the gear appeared to be down. Mr. Mitchell (instructor) performed the landing. He reported that after touchdown during the rollout, the nose gear collapsed thereby damaging the prop and lower engine cowl. An emergency had been declared prior to the landing in the event of a possible gear failure. Post incident investigation revealed the actuator arm on the nosewheel landing gear had fractured. A malfunction and defect report will be filed as a result of the incident. No further action is necessary. This is a final report.
