From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: during departure out of iad, with the aircraft level at 16,000 MSL, the flight attendant reported a vibration in the floor between seats 8 and 10. The first officer verified the vibration and reported to the captain that it was very prominent and severe. An emergency was declared and the aircraft returned to iad. During descent, the aircraft shook and vibrated even more toward the front. The f.a. said the vibration lessened in the rear. With the gear down and the flaps at 25, the aircraft landed with the rudder pedals and control yokes shaking almost like a stick shaker. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to the gate. Maintenance inspected the aircraft and noticed that the lavatory service door was not fairing properly. They removed the door and operated the aircraft with in accordance with the cdl. Another door was installed and the problem has not returned.
