From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: not a pilot deviation. The aircraft taxied to the runup area and the pilot completed the prefliht checks. The pilot then asked the front seat passenger to close the cabin door. While doing so, the front seat passenger opened the cabin door sufficiently to allow for additional prop wash to enter the airplane. The prop wash picked up the pilot's map and blew it outside the airplane. The pilot, attempting to leave the airplane to retrieve his map, moved his seat to the full aft position. This caused the pilot's feet to leave the brakes. The engine was still running and the parking brake was not set. The front seat passenger was not a pilot and had no knowledge of the operation of aircraft brakes. The aircraft rolled forward under idle thrust and struck a taxiway light before it could be brought under control once again. This incident is closed.
