What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Narrative: the aircraft entered a left base leg for landing at Agana, guam. As the aircraft turned final the engine began running rough. The CFI applied carburetor heat several times before the engine quit on a long final, one mile from the runway. The CFI began a turn, looking for a landing site. The aircraft landed in a swamp area with six foot tall "saw grass." The aircraft came to a stop in a level attitude with no damage. The CFI and student exited the aircraft. The CFI opened the drain valves on both wing tanks to "dump fuel", because he was concerned about the possibility of a "post crash fire." Both individuals were rescued by military helicopter due to the inaccessibility of the landing site.
