From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: N8768Y, a PA-30 twin commanche, was coming to a full-stop landing on runway 34L at Paine field and the pilot claimed the left brake locked up. The aircraft veered to the left and ran off the runway ending up 400 feet west of runway in the grass. Three persons were on board with no injuries. The aircraft was taken to regal air. Regal air did not find any mechanical deficiencies with brakes or nose steering. The pilot stated that a Boeing 747 was also in the pattern and the incident may have been caused by wake turbulence. The left propeller and the left wingtip were damaged in the incident. Weather: METAR kpa 2400552 01010KT 50SM sct 040 bkn 200 09/03 a 3025
