From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: skydiver robert wesley young exited the aircraft at 11,000 ft. MSL and joined in a 3-WAY jump and at 3,000 ft. MSL the group separated. Mr. Young grabbed his pilot chute to throw it out but it wrapped around his right wrist and twisted. The jumper was observed out of control with his right arm extended. At 100 ft. MSL Mr. Young was able to breakaway his main chute and deploy his reserve chute. The reserve chute did not have time to open and Mr. Young hit the earth. Mr. Young died instantly upon impact with the ground. Throughout the investigation no discrepancies were noted during the skydiving operation. Thus each responsibility is being closed out as no action.
