From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Lost control at liftoff on touch and go. Veered off runway on right main and nose wheel down a hill into trees. (-23) during his takeoff the student pilot stated the right main gear strut collapsed and the aircraft veered off to the left while skidding on the right main and nose gear and the left main gear remained airborne. The left main gear made contact after skidding on the runway and on the edge of the grassy area where the aircraft went over the embankment. The skid marks on the runway and on the grass along with a statement from IA mechanic would confirm the pilot's statement.
