From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Lost power on climbout. Fuel supply exhausted. (-23) pilot stated fuel gauge showed 1/4 tank on pre-flight. No attempt was made to verify gauge reading by sticking or other means. He also stated that, after the crash, he observed the gaselator was completely dry and there was less than a pint in each wings tank. Duration of the flight was estimated as 1 1/2 minutes. Due to recent heavy rains, the actual crash site could not be reached (hilly, muddy terrain and a large pond at the end of the runway).
