From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On test flight, tail section made back and forth motion, applied full power, stalled, landed on a golf course. (-23) aircraft first touched down on the runway about 150 to 200 feet from the threshold. The evidence then showed that the aircraft veered to the left off the runway. There was evidence of the main landing gear and tail wheel in the field adjacent to the runway, which showed that the aircraft had bounced a couple of times in the field. The evidence then showed that the aircraft went airborne for about 200 yards before touching down again. The evidence appeared to show that the left wing struck the ground first then striking a tree, fence, post, and several other shrubs and brush before coming to rest in the golf course. The golf course is adjacent to the airport, where the aircraft came to rest about 300 to 350 yards from where it first touched down on the runway.

As the FAA filed it
