From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 7/10/97 at 14:15 local, pilot was instructed to taxi into position and hold for take off on runway 18. Upon doing so he noticed the wind blowing the dust at the opposite end of the runway to the west. The tower told him to continue to hold, that there was a dust devil transiting the airport. The tower advised full brakes. He confirmed he was applying full brake pressure. The dust devil tracked towards the runway and then straight down it towards his holding aircraft. The dust devil rocked, then lifted the plane, set it down and then abruptly lifted the tail causing the left tip and propeller to strike the ground.
