From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot was landing on runway 35 at Hector int'l, Fargo, ND after touchdown pilot felt RH wing drop with wing dropping to runway. Aircraft then veered to the right and began sliding sideways which then buckled LH gear. Aircraft came to rest on runway. Landing gear failure caused by inferior welding during manufacture. Pilot builder counseled on welding techniques. Pilot stated he had purchased the a/c with some of the components already completed. The gear was completed. Pilot builder is to remove gear and remanufacture.
