From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on 8/26/97 at 1300 EDT a Piper malibu, PA-46, N415JH, piloted by dudley johnson landed on runway 10 at the Syracuse international airport. Pilot reported that he had no "down" indication from the nose gear and the hydraulic pump popped the circuit breaker. The landing was uneventful and the nose gear was down and locked. Maintenance jacked the aircraft and cycled the gear repeatedly. A defective nose gear down lock switch was found and placed on order. The switch controls the down lock indication and turns off the hydraulic pump. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time. This incident is considered closed.
