From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: reexamination completed 9/8/97. The pilot flew earlier in the evening on a local flight. After landing, he waited until dark so he could then complete night takeoffs and landings for currency. After take off he remained in left closed traffic for runway 17L. Lincoln ATCT cleared N3733Y for the option. The pilot said he was busy with the interior lights in the airplane and just forgot to lower the landing gear. The airplane was landed gear up. Damage was limited to antenna, belly skin and prop tips. This incident is closed with this report.
