From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot stated he landed on runway 18, with an airspeed of approximately 80 KTS. (The FBO reported the wind to be 040 @ 7-8 KTS.) After touchdown, the pilot let the aircraft roll a little bit, then applied the brakes. The aircraft veered off to the left side of the runway, departing it went down a hill, through a ditch, across a taxiway, where it came to rest with the nose gear sheared off. Investigation revealed no mechanical difficulties with the aircraft. The pilot landed downwind on runway 18 and appears to have lost directional control after applying the brakes.
