From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: it is unknown the cause of the engine quitting during takeoff. Discussion with the pilot he thinks his engine quit due to carb icing. The temp was 71 degrees, dew point 61 degrees. As I inspected the aircraft I found the wings (both fuel tanks) topped off, so it is unknown whether fuel starvation could have been a factor. Damage to the aircraft was broken bungee cords and safety cable which are for shock absorption during landing and gear stability. No other significant damage was noted.
