From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft was cleared to land Bedford, runway 29. Initial touchdown was with main gear; when nose gear made contact with runway (about 50 ft later), a slight delay occurred and then nose gear collapsed. Pilot stated that everything was normal prior to failure. ATCT tape indicated no aircraft problems prior to landing. No injuries to pilot or single passenger. Aircraft appears to have minor damage to nose gear door and both propellers were bent. Internal engine damage to be determined. Cause of nose gear failure to be determined; pending mechanic evaluation.
