From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On flare crosswind gust lifted wing causing turn off runway into trees. Had full flaps in strong gusty crosswind. (-23) the private pilot had completed a normal approach to landing at the airport with full flaps. The wind was very gusty, however it was directly down the runway. Just prior to touch down a strong gust picked the right wing up and the aircraft started to drift left. The pilot stated that he applied full power and attempted to go around. The aircraft struck trees approximately 10 feet high on the left side of the runway and crashed. The pilot was not injured.
