From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft departed bwi airport enroute to edaf. Flight crew requested to return to bwi, due to a passenger medical emergency. To meet landing weight restrictions, crew jettisoned approximately 93,000 lbs of fuel. At or near 12,000 feet, crew terminated fuel dump. Crew noted left hand fuel dump valve remained open after selecting fuel dump valves to the closed position. Crew stated that they followed appropriate checklists, but apparently fuel continued to be dumped according to witnesses right up through an uneventful landing. Investigation is continuing, flight engineer - paul m. lanning, 1657940 domicile 19113.

As the FAA filed it
