From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On final 14 gear horn came on. Went around. Props had hit runway. Unable landed off enw. Gear horn inop flaps down. (.4)the pilot took off to practice touch-and-go's. he made a tighter than normal traffic pattern due to reduced visibility. He stated he was distracted due to the visibility. The pilot failed to lower the landing gear. During touchdown the propeller blades contacted the runway and the pilot performed a go-around. Airplane performance was degraded due to the bent propeller blades. The pilot overshot final approach and was unable to properly align the airplane with the runway due to the degraded performance. The airplane touched down in a field where it contacted a snow bank prior to traveling across the runway and coming to a stop. Inspection of the airplane revealed the landing gear warning horn would not operate with the landing gear retracted and flaps extended past 15 degrees. (-23) the pilot stated: he was on final approach to runway 14 at enw and failed to lower the landing gear. During the landing flare the landing gear warning horn sounded. The pilot initiated a go around. The propellers cam e in contact with the ground. The performance of the engine/propellers WA affected. When the landing gear was lowered to land on 24R (enw) it was impossible to maintain airspeed. The pilot elected to land straight and level at on approximately a 200 degree heading damaging the propellers, landing gear, flaps, belly and nose of the aircraft.

As the FAA filed it
