From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: upon landing on runway 12 (winds 220 deg. @ 15 knts), pilot states he landed with a slight crab and was told to go to the end of the runway and contact ground. As he was rolling out he felt a slight vibration in the airframe. Aircraft departed the runway on left side. Upon investigation it was found that the left main gear torque link had disconnected. The tire and lower barrel axle assembly were turned to the right 90 degrees. The attaching bolt (an 175-20) for the upper and lower links was found still attached to the upper link with a portion of the cotter pin still inside the cotter pin hole. The nut (AN310-5) had separated from the bolt and was found by the initial touchdown spot. Threads on the bolt showed evidence of stress and wear, the threads on the nut were completely stripped. An m or d will be filed by the operator.
