From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: N118SF, was unable to extend the landing gear electrically while on approach to Eppley Airfield (oma), Omaha, Nebraska, from kearney (ear), Nebraska. The aircraft was engaged in 135 operations under suburban air freight, inc., certificate JDWA157F. Omaha ATCT verified the gear was unsafe and vectored the aircraft to the east for operation of emergency landing gear extension system. The aircraft landed at oma without further incident. Inspection disclosed the RH outboard main gear door actuating cam, p/n 115-810038, was distorted as a result of misalignment with the RH MLG outboard door roller assembly. The actuating cam was replaced and a number of retraction cycles performed prior to return to service.
