From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot said after landing and roll out as the aircraft was taxiing on the runway, the aircraft made a hard left turn. He stopped the aircraft and then attempted to taxi. The aircraft moved, but the pilot knew something was not right. After getting the aircraft off the runway, he and the co-pilot saw the left main wheel was not aligned properly and left the aircraft and went for assistance to move it. On 4/16/98, 08:30, the aircraft was in the maintenance facility of et mechanical. The center bolt of the left MLG torque links had pulled the bushing from the upper link, because washer part number 504581-2 was not installed. The bolt and nut along with the bushing from the upper torque link were intact. The torque link was not effective and allowed the main landing gear to rotate to the aft of the strut, and 90 degrees to the path of rotation.
