From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: when I first interviewed the pilot (Mr. King) he stated that he was talking to his son, who was the pax and just forgot to put the gear down. When I went to look at the plane on Monday and talked to Mr. King he stated he did not know what happened. Mr. King stated he remembered putting the gear handle down and got a green light. There was no damage to the outside of the gear doors, which would indicate they were up in the wing. When the a/c was raised the gear free fell and locked in place and remained locked while the a/c was towed back to the hangar. The pilot admitted forgetting to put the gear down, then changed his story to he did not know what happened. privacy data omitted
