From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Lost power on takeoff. Landed in a field. (.4)the pilot reported that during the takeoff, and just after liftoff, the engine lost partial power. The pilot continued to fly the airplane straight ahead and under power lines that were near the end of the airstrip. The tailwheel struck a barbed wire fence before the airplane touched down in a field that was populated with small christmas trees. The airplane nosed over before coming to rest. Post accident inspection of the engine did not reveal any evidence of a mechanical failure or malfunction, however, contamination was found in the carburetor and the accelerator pump failed to function properly. (-23)lost power takeoff. Landed in field.
