From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: IAL38051701 pilot was practicing touch and goes (7 total). He left the landing gear down for the last three circuits. Pilot stated that the previous landing had put a side load on the gear. On the 7th landing the left main gear collapsed (retracted). All landings were full stall (between 45-50 mph @ touchdown). The pilot retracted the other two gear with the gear lever and slid on the keel. Only observable damage is slight gouging on left hand wing float/sponson bottom fairing/rub strip and slight rub spot on forward keel. No obvious problems observed with left or right gear locking mechanisms and no damage observed on gear. Owner will have a mechanic inspect the gear (retract test) before next flight and report findings to FSDO.
