From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During flight instruction on June 8, 1998 the flight instructor stated at about 300 feet after the third take off and landing it felt like a load shifted in the aircraft. It was followed by a very loud thumb which seemed to be coming from underneath the aircraft. He took control of the aircraft and announced he had an emergency. The thumping continued every few seconds. He was headed down wind and noticed the right wheel and oleo strut was against the flap and was trailing behind the trailing edge of the right wing. He also stated there were no landings nor any side loads put on the gear during any of the landings. He made an emergency landing in the grass at the peter prince airport in Milton, FL.
