From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot attempted to lower gear for landing and the nose gear failed to extend. Numerous attempts were made to extend nose gear, all negative. Pilot stated fuel was a consideration and based on his anaylsis, and the numerous attempts to lower the nose gear, he decided to land nose gear up, mains down. The landing was uneventful and the aircraft received minor damage to propeller, gear door, fiberglass and exhaust stack. The defect appeared to be faulty gear tension springs and arm assembly which attaches to the strut housing. Further investigation revealed corrosssion on nose landing gear spring arm assembly attach bolt and bushing. This corrosion prevented normal operation of nose gear assembly.
