From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5) The pilot began takeoff roll with 5-10 knots direct crosswind from the left. As he raised the tail, he failed to input proper control movements to maintain directional control and drifted to the left, struck 9 foot high corn with the left wing and then ground looped the aircraft to the left 90 degrees. Subsequent inspection of N2303K, by inspector jay wilkins, of the cmh FSDO, determined that the aircraft had sustained minor damage to the right wingtip, right aileron, right main landing gear and right elevator tip. This was discussed with NTSB investigator brian rayner on 07/22/98, NTSB northeast regional office, and he concurred with inspector wilkin's damage determination.
